Idea sketches in fresco technique

For many years I have been interested in fresco technique. In 2007 I attended a course in fresco at the European Centre for Heritage Crafts and Professions, Venice, supported by Esther and Jep Fink's Memorial Foundation for Architecture and Crafts.

Fresco is a very old technique, which is also true of relief and brick techniques, which is the starting point of my work. My aim is to use and develop this old technique and make a contemporary statement.

With its multiple layers of sand, lime and colour wet on wet, fresco offers a depth and a luminous texture, whose pictorial opportunities I want to pursue.
